Thomas Prentice - Financial Advisor for over 40 Years

Long before joining the finance industry, financial advisor Thomas Prentice honed his work ethic while in high school and university through roles as a golf caddie, cattle ranch worker, cleaning-business owner, and Coca Cola truck driver. An Ohio native, he excelled in sports, serving as captain of football teams in both grade school and high school while also playing basketball and baseball. Now working at RBC in Palm Desert, California as a financial advisor, Thomas Prentice owes a big part of his success to the discipline and determination he built in his youth.

At RBC, a boutique-style firm, Mr. Prentice provides personalized wealth management services. Known for his relationship-driven approach, he gives high-quality investment advice to his clients.

Prior to RBC, Mr. Prentice worked over 35 years at Merrill Lynch. Starting in 1980, he built a successful investment advisory career mostly at the company’s San Bernardino office. He developed and led a high-performing team of investment advisors, growing the company’s advisory practice and earning top-producer recognition multiple years. Earlier in his career, he was a stockbroker at Blyth Eastman Dillon.

Thomas Prentice earned a BA in business from Ohio State University. He studied on an Evans Scholarship, earned through his years as a caddie at Scioto Country Club. Away from the office, he enjoys working out and was an avid polo player too, participating in and winning tournaments at both the Empire and El Dorado polo clubs in California’s Coachella Valley.
